Dance Style Classes

Healthways offers two fun ways of getting fit with its dance style exercise classes:

  • Zumba and
  • Love-it-Latin!

You will be amazed at how much you will ‘work out’ in these one hour classes!

As well as experiencing a physical workout, they also provide mental stimulation and  can be a great social outlet for you.

Love-it-Latin!

This is a ‘Zumba’ style aerobics workout set to a fabulous fusion of street Latin and ballroom Latin dance styles.  Mixing mambo, cha cha and salsa moves (to name a few), you will be kept on your toes and you will never be bored by the dance routines.

You don’t need a partner; come on your own or with friends.  You’ll experience creative choreography and be enticed by the catchy beat of the music.

There are two Love-it-Latin! classes:

  • The open class will give you a high cardio-vascular workout, as well as improve your focus and mental alertness as you remember fast paced routines. The moves are challenging and lots of fun!
  • The second class is for beginners who want to learn the basic moves, learn the names of the moves, work on co-ordinating the arm and leg actions and still get a great workout.  All of this while still having fun!

What do I wear and bring to a Love-it-Latin! class?

It is best to wear clothes that make you feel comfortable as you will be doing swift movements.  Most participants wear leggings or tracksuit pants and a singlet or t-shirt.

We also recommend that you wear shoes with a flat sole and minimal grip.  (Shoes with too much grip can impede your turns and steps.)
