Box Hill Tenpin is Australia’s oldest and best preserved retro tenpin bowling centre. Steeped in original features with modern comforts, Box Hill Tenpin has been the place where strikes happen and good times roll for over six decades.
Established in 1961 as Victoria’s very first tenpin bowling centre – and Australia’s 3rd bowling centre behind Glenelg SA (opened in 1959) and Hurstville NSW (opened in 1960), Box Hill Tenpin stands tall as the last one left.
Located on the 1st floor at Healthways Recreation Centre, our lanes have seen decades of world events. The original above-ground ball returns? Still here and still fantastic. The retro soul that makes this place special? Absolutely intact. Generations of people around the country have stepped through our doors to score on our manual scoring systems and take on the tenpins. The original way!
