About Us

“Healthways” is a family owned business that manages local community recreation centres.

We started in Box Hill where we took over an old run down facility.  When your facilities are not new you have to make up for it by providing excellent programs and customer service.  And that is what we set out to do.  Over the last 16 years we have developed excellent swimming programs, dancing classes, school holiday programs, group exercise classes, ten pin bowling birthday parties and lots more.  Along the way we have won a number of industry awards and been a finalist for many more.

Additionally, every year we have set up a comprehensive schedule of facility improvements, including installing 90 solar panels on the roof in 2010; making us the only recreation centre in Australia to be “off-the-grid” on sunny days.  And there have been many more facility improvements including: converting the pool to salt, changing the showers to water saving sensor showers, completely re-fitting the gym equipment, renovating the front facade, installing brand new bowling lanes, replacing the aerobics room floor, completely re-fitting the pool filtration system, etc.

All the while, we’ve kept our eye firmly on making sure we were providing quality services to help our customers.  We have engaged the local community, the local schools, and the local businesses with sponsorships, events, promotions and donations.  We hope we’ve created a place where people can connect, improve and enjoy their lives.

Today, Healthways is entering a new phase.  We have successfully obtained planning approval to expand our Box Hill site, and we have successfully obtained the new lease of a swimming pool in Ringwood.

We are very excited to be at the beginning of a new journey.

• We are looking forward to expanding our signature community-based style to engage people in and around Ringwood; and
• We are looking forward to expanding our facilities to service more people in and around Box Hill, while maintaining our community-based style there too.
